Sacrifice offering was the primary way the Israel people communicate with the God in the old testament time.
When the Israel exile returned Jerusalem to build the God's temple, they started with building the altar at its old site, even though they were afraid of the local residents. And they began to sacrifice the burnt offering on it to the Lord each morning and evening.
Now our primary way to communicate with God is through prayer in the name of our Lord. Pray about everything, tell God what you need, and thanks him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceed anything we can understand.
So always start with prayer to set up the communication with the Lord on everything. The God will guide you and watch over you , as He watched over the Israelite building the temple.
