God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble

Being proud is a very serious sin in God's eyes, and God always takes it very seriously.
The God saved Hezekiah from his enemies and blessed him richly ,but Hezekiah became proud.
When the king of Babylon sent envoys to visit him , he showed them all that was in his storehouses—the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine olive oil—his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.
Here were the God' words to Hezekiah through prophet Isaiah, "
The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your predecessors have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the Lord. And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood who will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon." (2 Kings 20:16-18 NIV)
Jerusalem was later destroyed by Babylon and the people were exiled to a foreign land.
So humble yourself before the Lord , for he always opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.
Blessings.
