Very often we turn a loyal friend away, sometime even into an enemy. It is not because the friend is bad, it is because we are blind and have evil in our own hearts.

King David was a loyal friend of Hanun's father , Nahash , king of the Ammonites. When Nahash died, king David send messenger to express sympathy . But Hanun followed the evil advice of his people, he humiliated David's ambassador and drove them away! Hanun was blind, he turned a loyal friend into an enemy!

The loss of a friend is a big loss for sure. But there is one best friend, you would not afford to lose, he is Jesus Christ. Do you recognize him and accept him as your friend?

He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John‬ ‭1:10-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Blessings.

Bible verses,
Some time after this, King Nahash of the Ammonites died, and his son Hanun became king. David said, “I am going to show loyalty to Hanun because his father, Nahash, was always loyal to me.” So David sent messengers to express sympathy to Hanun about his father’s death.

But when David’s ambassadors arrived in the land of Ammon, the Ammonite commanders said to Hanun, “Do you really think these men are coming here to honor your father? No! David has sent them to spy out the land so they can come in and conquer it!”

So Hanun seized David’s ambassadors and shaved them, cut off their robes at the buttocks, and sent them back to David in shame. 1 Chronicles‬ ‭19:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
