Onesimus was a slave of Philemon. He fled from his master , met Paul at Rome and became a Christian. Paul enjoyed the accompany of Onesimus, but he send him back to his master, and asked Philemon to forgive and treat him as brother in Christ.
This was a bold request . Why could Paul ask this bold favor?
It is because that Paul kept hearing about Philemon's faith in the Lord Jesus and his love for all of God’s people. It is because that his love had given people much joy and comfort, and his kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.
Do you have the goodness in your heart like Philemon which people can count on?
There is one thing we can all count on always , the kindness of Jesus Christ. " he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit" (Titus 3:5 NLT)
So count on the goodness of our God and lord Jesus Christ , and let people count on your goodness in the heart, the goodness come from the Lord.
