How do you read the bible ? Do you read the bible as your own words or as God's words?
Some people read the bible as their own words. They read and explain the bible in their own way, and pick up only the words which fit their own desire and support their own behavior. Sounds familiar, right? Is that you?
Just as Paul wrote in the letter to Timothy that "a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths."(2 Timothy 4:3-4 NLT)
Bur for Timothy Paul told him that he must remain faithful to the things he had been taught from the childhood, because "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. " 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT
I used to read the bible as my own words, now I read the bible as the words of God. How about you?
The scriptures are words of God, read it with your heart and be faithful to God's teachings.
God blesses!
Bible verses,
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT
For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 NLT
