It is of infinite value to know Christ Jesus our lord, through the faith in Christ, we are made right before God and have eternal life, for which we should always rejoice.
But Paul said knowing Jesus is not the end of the game. This does not mean we had already reached perfection.
Instead, we should forget the past and look forward to what lies ahead . We must press on to possess the perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed us, press on to receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Jesus Christ, is calling us.
Paul said this should be the correct thought and attitude of all Christians who are spiritually mature.
So hold on to the progress we have already made, forget the past, focus on what lies ahead, and press on, with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul, till we reach the end of the race.
God blesses.
Bible verses,
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.
Philippians 3:12 NLT
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Philippians 3:13-14 NLT
Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.( Philippians 3:15-16 NLT)
