很多目标美国大学的家长把加拿大大学作为孩子的保底学校,应该说是有点盲目乐观了。目标为哈佛等几所顶尖名校的孩子也不敢说加拿大的顶尖大学就一定录取,但是基本问题不大。如果目标为美国前30-50的孩子把UBC的商学院、多大的工程、滑铁泸的电脑等等专业做为保底恐怕不成。加拿大这些专业分数和课外活动等要求一点不比美国定价大学容易。以UBC尚德商学院为例,12年级的成绩要求同哈佛差不多,活动的多样性和专一度在文书里都要体现出来。再加上面试,程序同常春藤大学申请差不多了。去年PG有个女孩子平均94分,加拿大所有商学院都录取了,UBC面试没有过,当然没有被录取。孩子非常伤心,因为她就想留在温哥华,最后去了SFU。UBC商学院的文书和面识要求在这里,12年级要申请商学院的孩子们是一定要认真对待的,其他年级的孩子做参考用。
