Did you experience some difficult time, when you were helpless and hopeless, as Paul experienced? Did God ever reached out his mighty hands and rescued, as he rescued Paul ?
Paul went through a mortal trouble in the province of Asia. They were crushed and overwhelmed beyond their ability to endue. They thought they would never live through it, and even expected to die. As a result, they STOPPED relying on themselves, and LEARNED to rely only on God. The God Paul believed is the same God who raised the Lord Jesus from the death . The God rescued them, and will rescue them again.
I did not experience the same mortal danger as Paul, but I shared the same salvation. I once had a period of difficult time many years ago. I felt that I was stuck in a well. The well was deep and dark. I could not see the light. I struggled , trying to hold something, but the wall was cold, hard and slippery, there was nothing I could grab. When I sat down, I saw a flame at the very bottom of my heart. It is tiny, but it is strong. It is so strong that nothing could extinguish it. At his mercy, the flame of life suddenly light up my entire life. My life is filled with his gracious light. The light is so warm, it is warmer than the warmest sunshine; the light is so bright , it brighter than the brightest sunshine. I live in his grace ever since then!
Have faith in the God! To be like Paul, stop relying on ourselves, and learn to rely only on God , who raises the dead! God bless!
Bible verses,
We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us. 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 NLT
