We see sunrise, we see moonrise, have you ever seen earth rise? Here is one of the pictures of earth-rise taken by the crew of Apollo 8 from the orbit of moon.

Apollo 8 , launched on Dec 21 of 1968, was the first crewed spacecraft to successfully orbit the Moon and return to Earth. There are 3 crew members on Apollo 8, Frank Borman, William A. Anders, James A. Lovell Jr. The Apollo 8 crew were also the first to witness and photograph an Earth-rise.

During a telecast on Christmas Eve , Dec 24 of 1968, the crew read verses from the first chapter of Genesis and wished viewers, "Good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas and God bless all of you - all of you on the good Earth." All telecasts were of excellent quality. Voice communications also were exceptionally good throughout the mission.

Here is the Bible verses of Genesis‬ ‭1:1-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬, which were read from Apollo 8,

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.” Genesis‬ ‭1:1-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
