China Trip from Sep 15th-26th
Day 1, 9/15 Leaving DIA (Flight)
Fly to China from Denver to Beijing.
3 hours of domestic flight from Denver/SFO or Vancouver, then 11 hours of international flight to Beijing, capital of China.
Day 2, 9/16: Beijing, Arrival
Your unforgettable flavors discovery tour begins with your arrival in Beijing. Upon our arrival at Beijing airport, our private tour guide will escort us to our hotel.
The rest of the day, we will relax and try to recover from jetlag. Don’t forget take some Melatonin or Benadryl. (Unknown Name of hotel)
Day 3, 9/17: Beijing-The Great Wall (Bus tour)
After our breakfast, our tour guide will take us 1.5h driving to visit the magnificent Great Wall, the 8th Wonder of the world.
After sightseeing, we will enjoy a famous traditional Peking duck dinner.
Day 4, 9/18: Beijing-Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City
We will visit Tiananmen Square, the largest plaza on earth. Passing through the iconic Tiananmen Gate, then we will enter the splendid Forbidden City, China’s No. 1 palace complex famous for its grand royal buildings, exquisite ornaments and priceless treasures.
We might discover Beijing night scene after dinner.
Day 5, 9/19: Beijing- Xi’an-Terracotta Warriors (Bus tour)
After our breakfast, we will take an early flight to Xi’an, which is capital of Shanxi Province.
Upon our arrival, we will meet our host families, and head to Northwest University of China, which was founded 1851. Meet with Postgraduate students with topic of “Dream, Career, Love, and Future”.
We might have a chance to enjoy Tang Dynasty Dancing Show. (Still arranging, more information to come)
Day 6, 9/20: Xi’an-Terracotta Warriors (Bus tour)
This morning we will visit the incredible life-size Terracotta Warriors with over 6,000 painted life-size warriors and horses from Qin Dynasty.
Continue on to a walk on the top of the Ancient City Walls and it’s an ideal way to see the ancient city.
We will enjoy traditional local Northwestern cuisine.
Day 7, 9/21: Xi’an-Hospital Presentation, Xi’an - Chengdu (Flight)
Bereavement lecture will take place in Xi’an Children’s Hospital. Xi’an Children’s Hospital is a 1,500-bed Children’s general facility with 1.79Millions outpatients and 55,000 admissions. This hospital participates in medicine, teaching, research, prevention and rehabilitation.
Our goal is emphasizing how important the Bereavement is during patient care and helping them to understanding that is part of our patient and family centered care. Also we will support them in establishing hospital policy.
After the presentation, we will fly to Chengdu, meet our host families, and relax overnight.
Day 8, 9/22: Chengdu-Dujiangyan Irrigation (Bus tour)
After our breakfast, our private tour guide will take us to visit DujiangyanIrrigation System which is honored as the Treasure of Sichuan.
We will stop at a local tea house for a cup of traditional Chinese tea. Followed by a trip to Qingcheng Mountain, which is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China.
Enjoy local Sichuan folk food in farmhouse.
We might have a chance to watch the famous Sichuan Opera with mask changing performance. (Still arranging…)
Day 9, 9/23: Chengdu- Go Panda (Bus tour)
Today will begin with our visiting to Chengdu Women/Children hospital, which is a 1,500-bed women and newborn’s general facility. We will share experiences with colleagues with new model of Baby friendly hospital. Also we will demonstrate our patient care at bedside from taking care of laboring patient to helping in newborn breastfeeding.
Then our tour guide will take us to see the lovely giant panda in the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base specializes in baby panda and their care.
After that, we will explore local history in Jinli Street, which is the best place to observe local folklore. We will enjoy a delicious Hot Pot cuisine.
Day 10, 9/24: Chengdu-Luzhou (Bus tour)
After visiting a private hospital, Chengdu Modern Hospital and presentationof strategies of patient and family centered care, our private tour guide will drive us to Luzhou.
Beginning our stay, we will observe Chinese Traditional medicine in Chinese-western medicine Hospital of Sichuan Medical University. During our dinner we will enjoy one of most famous wines in China.
Day 11, 9/25: Luzhou
Evidence-base-practice is our key point today. We will share our experience in the general medical field, especially obstetric area with medical students, nurses and residents. We will demonstrate how to promote our patient care as a model of a magnet designated hospital.
If we are not tired, we will take a river cruise enjoying the Mountain night scenery.
Day 12, 9/26 Day: Luzhou-Beijing-USA
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to our home. It is end of our trip. But our mission isn’t over yet. See you next year!
