Job opening: Senior Database Developer 

Location: Boston, MA

Part time, has full-time potential contingent on future funding. Ideal for someone who is willing to take on a side project and lends his/her expertise to a good cause.

Develop and maintain database and cube functionality to support corporate products and services:

• Design and maintain database structures, cube structures and internal processing systems to meet corporate and project objectives.

• Identify issues relative to data, data sources and data analytics processes and recommend solutions to correct issues.

• Develop and track estimates for project tasks and deliverables.

• Create and maintain documentation to support developed applications.

• Perform internal QA checks to insure high quality deliverables.

• Load, process and migrate incoming data feeds and create outgoing data extracts and reports.

• Identify issues relative to data, data sources and data analytics processes and recommend solutions to correct issues.

• Migrate applications and data throughout the development cycle (development, test, stage, production) following proper policies and procedures.

• Support enhancements and bug fixes following proper scheduling and prioritization guidelines.

• Provide decision support and fulfill ad hoc requests.

• Performance tuning and load testing.

• Strictly adhere to data security policies and procedures.

• Effectively communicate project status and issues to project team, management and business stakeholders.

• Perform consistent, accurate timekeeping on all project and non-project tasks.

• Work independently and with a team from direction from management.

BACKGROUND REQUIRED:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong RDBMS and Microsoft SQL Server skills.

• Strong Dimensional Modeling

• Strong SSAS Cube Development

• Excellent understanding of software development methodologies.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong problem solving and decision making skills.

• Accuracy and strict adherence to deadlines.

 Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree

 Experience:

• 4-8 years of SQL development, including stored procedures.

• 4-8 years of SSAS development, including data modeling
