李春燕谈如何做美国人（8）：按摩女值得我们华裔去争吗？

警察歧视、暴力被CNN, 等ABC, CBS报道。如果没有录像真是有嘴说不清。原告说警察试图拿走录像，多亏是远程的。华人就是perpetual foreigners吗？ 不论这按摩女，还是职业中的玻璃天花板,我们见的还少吗？还是宁愿闭起眼睛不见？前几天还有朋友因为那个FOB一词有歧视嫌疑而烦恼，看看这警察的行为，我们在他人眼中不就是FOB吗，而且是illegals, or using a politically correct term, undocumented aliens。
周日纽约筹款会加州Senator Ted Lieu也提及这样的偏见，他小时侯家里车圈被扎,被叫chinks；还提起一次他穿军服竟被问是不是中国军人。Comedian Margaret Cho 在CNN说起invisible Asian Americans being viewed as foreigners. 朋友说：“日本裔的议员本田的祖先19世纪就来到了美国，现在还偶尔有陌生人问他：你从哪儿来？亚裔美国人被当成外国人是个问题，而且没有解决的办法。”
这些不是遥远的过去，就是现在。我认为解决的办法是我们行动，发出声音，无论按摩女还是参议员，有不公的就要争。朋友说这Jessica给华人丢脸，该打。我认为这无关乎丢脸。一个族群里三教九流，我们不应担心别人给华人丢脸。那么那些偷渡客是否也给咱合法华裔移民丢脸？我们华人是很讲脸面，但在就事论事上还是脱去脸面考虑为好，否则争取自己的位置、争得正义怎能有底气？警察不对就是不对，我们应该抓住这种歧视问为什么警察会说出这样的话。而看CNN的报道，已不只不是歧视，而是hate crime了。
昨晚一朋友刚好提起做父母的真希望过简简单单的日子，带孩子们长大，是啊，谁愿意看到这些令人气氛的事？谁不希望在桃花源里男耕女织？但如果这种语言发生在咱们自己或孩子身上，无论是按摩女还是职业女，我们岂能容忍？那按摩女就可以用这样亵渎的语言吗？我认为人都该平等，我们在把其他人归类为不值的同时，有否看到如果当年白人认为不值得帮黑人争平权，黑人包括我们华人能有今天的平等吗？
看看CNN女主持人问的，“这是否太过分了？” 我们既是华人，也是美国人，是美国人就要用American Way来争得在这个国家的地位。这点在前段发的Fresh Off the Boat 一文中就是强调如此。我们首先要有底气去争，也不要只局限于大学，职场，甚至华人利益，看到更广泛的社会里的不公需要改变的，我们都参与，才是真正把自己当自己人，就是我一直回避用的“主流”。相信主流社会集体进步也有益于我们华人。
