真面目续集：APAPA 人物的检讨：

And my own shortcomings in reading how people think contributed to the misunderstanding. As someone mostly 'raised' here in the US, I didn't have an understanding of how people would react to certain things. The obvious one is how "party" seems to carry so much weight in the minds of the new immigrants from China. I've never thought of party affiliation as a serious matter. It is only serious when one wants to run for office or want some favors from the party.

But apparently this is a big deal for new immigrants. Therefore I was unfortunately very slow to come to the realization of this issue. It was my fault to not clear the air earlier.

So when 阿丹閔wrote that piece about me being a democrat and therefore APAPA belongs to the Democratic Party, I thought it was more funny than serious. But apparently that led to huge implications later and many people believed and important decisions were made based on this one false assumption. I would add that I don't know who he/she 阿丹閔 is and I believe he/she has no clue who I am nor what APAPA has done. In my mind, people would take that as one person's opinion and would want other evidence to support such a claim before fully believing it. That was a second mistake I made. Therefore, everything APAPA did, or what I did, was viewed with suspicion as one to help democrats or to try to control the new immigrant organizations. With that underlying suspicion, every action is viewed with colored lens and any minor honest omissions, or just a little slow in response, or fair comments that is my best opinion that support democrats, were considered a devious plot to undermine the "cause".
