All,
Wow, what an evening we had tonight. Twelve years ago we adopted our first of two Chinese daughters. Our second daughter 9 years ago. Tonight the unbelievable Greater Cincinnati Asian Community adopted us. We are so humbled and grateful for the overwhelming love and support that was given to us this evening by everyone. I don’t know how many people were there tonight but one person lost count at 200!!!! All of this was accomplished in less than 24 hours of being notified that a demonstration against bullying was needed at the Fairfield City School Board Meeting. We have been fighting this battle for a few years now and endured the tragedy of 13 year old Emilie Olsen taking her own life due to bullying last December 11. Now with our 13 year old daughter recovering from a concussion delivered intentionally by one of Emilie’s main bullies the fight continues. We sure received an enormous amount of help tonight, not only from the Asian community but the Jewish Community, the Native American Community, the Hispanic Community, the African American Community along with a lot of generally concerned people who were supporting this most important cause. We would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
I know there are several key people on this email distribution that helped make this happen but we have no way of knowing how to reach everyone who was there tonight. We would appreciate it if you could please forward this note of gratitude to anyone you know who may have been there to support us tonight.
Thank You All,
Raymond and Sharon Schmitz

You don't need to do anything but show up at the meeting。给他们校区的信息事这些事不是没人知道,这些家庭和孩子不是孤立的,他们后面有个大的社区。请求能去的兄弟姐妹去。她的父母都是白人,但得出结论是it's dangerous to be Chinese in Fairfield. Fairfield是辛辛那提的一部分,我们的社区,我们孩子成长的社区,我想我们应该为这个社区接受少数民族的公平待遇处理。
Some of you may have heard about Emilie Olsen, the adopted Chinese girl (whose parents are Caucasian) committed suicide because of race/ethnicity oriented bullying at school. Her parents have an on-going case against the school district at the moment. More details about her case can be found at http://www.wcpo.com/longform/emilie-olsen-uncovered-evidence-shows-bullying-was-factor-in-13-year-old-suicide and you will be able to find plenty of information by googling her name.
It seems race/ethnicity oriented bullying in general has been a persistent issue at Fairfield schools. A Shanghai family that recently moved to that school district moved out because their son couldn't stand the bullying and isolation at the school. Now another adopted Chinese girl has been bullied by the same bully who bullied Emilie. Tomorrow this girl's parents will attend the Fairfield School Board Meeting to protest and ask questions why the bully wasn't disciplined and the school allows this type of incident to happen to minority students again and again.
They reached out to the Asian community for help and support. We are called to show solidarity and support by simply showing up at the meeting tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairfield High School which is right next to Jungle Jim (8800 Holden Blvd, Fairfield, OH 45014).
The message to the school is that these minority children and their families are not alone and we are the large community out there that will pay attention to this kind of incident and will stand by them. It hurts all of us when their parents say "It is dangerous to be Chinese in Fairfield." Fairfield is part of Cincinnati and our community. We should be seen and heard in this community for the sake of ourselves and our children.
We encourage all parents to consider going to the board meeting tomorrow if your schedule allows. You don't have to do anything other than show up.
Fairfield City School should be held accountable for the death of Emilie Olsen who is clearly bullying-victimized. More Fairfield Middle School parents claim bullying, ask Asian-Americans to join in protest shar.es/1uGjZ8 via @WCPO It shouldn't be too hard to trace and reveal who set up the fake Instagram account in both the bullying incidents.
转“We should support the parents, looks like they are not taking this laying down, folks in that community should help them collect evidence, identify culprit and liability, demand justice/compensation from the person involved/School District.
The Chinese in that community should also drive Community and Social change, hight light in local/state newspaper, social media, discussion/rallies. The more we elevate the profile of this case, the less chance of this being papered over by the local school district and police. I have an Indian friend who’s daughter was asked to empty her pocket by some volunteer at school event, they documented the facts (mom is a lawyer) and raised hell to the school district, now the school apologized on behalf of the volunteer. ”
