You could rewind the clock but you would never be able to get the time back once it passed away. Life is a one way journey and is too short to waste. You are less likely to be aware that how much time you have squandered until feeling regretful. Live at present and manage your time more efficiently.
Lots of people may complain that they do not have enough time to finish their work or to do what they want to do. Excluding those objective factors, we sometimes overlook the way if we manage our time efficiently and effectively. Golden rules give us suggestions for having good working habits: learn to organize, deputize and supervise, and do things in the order of their importance.
I have read a journal regarding how a senior consultant working at a top finance group schedules his time on a day to day basis. We cannot exaggerate that we are much busier than a senior consultant in a competitive industry, but still he has plenty of time to be spent on what he likes to do either at work or off work, which largely results from his time management skills.
Here are some tips I want to share after reading the journal which could also applied to our golden rules. First of all, you are supposed to have the conception of time management, which is not only put down the tasks you are going to accomplish in a daily basis but further out in a long term what you are planning to achieve. Secondly, you have to prioritize your tasks instead of having a lump-sum list. Only if when you list your activities in an order of importance would you have the motivation and time pressure to get them done. Thirdly, if the plan is rolled out, you have to stick to it because it is always hard to grow a habit than abandon it. We might all have the situation that we planned our time which looks very efficient but ended up with unexpected consequences due to poor execution. Sometimes when a job is easier than you expect, you mind might tell you that it should not have been prioritized on the top of your list and you should switch to do it later. Once or twice you may not see the impact. But accumulatively either the tasks become sidetracked or you become less disciplined to execute your own plan.
Time would not save for you unless you grab it with your own hands. Stop complaining you are running out of time due to various reasons and incidents. Start to manage your time more wisely and that would make a huge change.
GOAWAYCOMEBACK COMMENTS:
Management Guru Peter Drucker said: if you cannot manage time, you cannot manage anything! Time management is foundation of everything matters in our lives, so if we want to manage our lives better, let’s manage our time first.
