迎接太阳
我盼望阳光普照
即使严冬随之而来
阴云 包裹着我的大地
灰色 浸透我的天空
太久 太久 我感觉不到冷
岁末的欢愉已被淋湿
天空飘着雨 没有雪
终于 我的太阳回来了
在这个清冷的傍晚
云彩张开双臂
羞红了脸庞
云儿呵 不该遮住我的视线
那么 那么久
我迎接太阳的归来
寒冷 我将忍耐
因为我爱那
雪花 绽放

Welcoming the Sun
I longed for the sunshine
Even if it would bring the frigid winter along
Dark clouds wrapped around the earth
Gloominess permeated the sky
For days on end I didn't feel cold
The holiday cheer soaking wet
There was rain, not snow
Finally the sun came back
In the chilly dusk
Clouds opened their arms
Blushing a deep red
They were blocking my view
For so, so long
I welcome the sun’s return
Chilliness, I shall endure, because
I love to see
Snowflakes blooming

【点点备注】年终两个多星期的阴天给美东地区带来了一个异常暖和的假期，新年第二天下午四点左右，太阳终于出来了，气温骤然下降十几度，真正的冬天到了。I started the original poem in English and Chinese, then posted for my poetry group for input. My friend BusyBee offered some valuable suggestions for the English part. In the meanwhile I updated my Chinese poem to the present version, based on which BusyBee translated into the English.
