Dear fellow citizens,
If you are pleased that SCA-5 has been returned to the State Senate and temporarily shelved, we want to remind you that the battle against such discriminatory bills is far from over. The caucuses behind SCA-5 have vowed continued pursuit of SCA-5 at every opportunity. As minorities hurt the most by such discrimination, we need to elect legislators and officials who are against SCA-5, who champion investment in children’s education rather than limiting their opportunities, who are accountable to their constituents rather than their party.
We urge you to vote in this year’s primary (June 3) and general (Nov) elections. Your vote is your voice. If you are disenchanted by the current State politics, your vote is your opportunity to change the status quo. If you haven’t registered yet, please note the voter registration deadline for the primary election is May 19. The registration is a simple online procedure at: http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm
If you share our stance on SCA-5 and plan to vote in this year’s elections, we recommend following candidates for legislative and government posts:

• Public Safety – Repeal AB109 and AB1266, keep career criminals in jail and protected our children’s safety and privacy
• Energy: Develop solar energy, promote green technology, utilize all available energy sources
