Everyone is saddened and concerned about the deaths in the last couple of weeks and we have not forgotten the past incidents either.  My prayers and thoughts go out to the Parents and their loved ones.

Project Safety Net http://www.psnpaloalto.com/about-us/community-coalition/ is a city funded and driven initiative and works with the school district contributing to organizations that have the expertise. There is a long established coalition dealing with such sad matter(s) which was developed in response to earlier incidents. There is a strong awareness of the copycat effect that people are so rightly worried about. I am meeting with a Council Member tomorrow who will share more information with me.

Meanwhile, I want to call upon you to form the Chinese Parent group concerned for safety at the railroad crossings by volunteering to stand watch at the Charleston and East Meadow railroad crossings until the City, PAUSD and other organizations can respond. We need 2 adults at each railroad crossing for 2 hours shifts, starting from 4PM – 12midnight. What do you say?

Let's look within ourselves often and bring to the fold our own-- child(ren), husband, wife, mother, father, grandparents, sisters, brothers, friends and all loved ones. Embrace each other and verbalize your love and thoughts, don't assume they know. Say it and say it often to each other.

My prayers are with all.

Sincerely,

Lydia
