Do you want your kids to have a chance to learn and experience important life skills like time management, collaboration, conflict resolution, creative problem-solving, and critical thinking?

A few programs, such as Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination, offer students opportunities to solve open-ended challenges and present their solutions at tournaments on the local, state, national, and international levels. Students from kindergarten through college can participate. If you are interested, Dr. Jia Li and Jinjin Feng are going to host an educational seminar on how to take advantage of such programs to foster your kids into creative and independent thinking.

Jia is going to share with us how her daughter benefited from the Odyssey of the Mind program, which helped her get into Yale University. In the odyssey of raising her daughter who graduated from Yale University in June 2013 and is attending Harvard Law School, Dr. Li developed deep understanding of American education system and strong belief that every child has the potential to reach excellence with quality coaching, encouragement and inspiration.

Jinjin has been helping the Destination Imagination program at John Green Elementary School. She will have an introduction of DI and share with us how this program can help our kids develop creative thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills, build up new friendship and learn how to work together.
