On May 21, 2017, the Silicon Valley Youth Orchestra will host Care for Special Children, Pursuing Our Dreams - Touch the Light: the second performance of the We Are Together series at the De Anza Art Center in Cupertino. SVYO will organize this event to raise money for Vista Center for Blind and Visually Impaired, the nonprofit organization at Stanford University.
We will work together with the New Visions of Tomorrow to show the blind and the visually impaired children we care through this performance. The purpose of this fundraising event is to support visually impaired children, bring public awareness, as well as to promote youth community service and collaboration.
In order to encourage more people to participate in our charity activities, the Silicon Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will accept "Touch the Light" themed poems until January 31, 2017.
Poetry Requirements:
- Can be in Chinese or English, must be original
- Poem is four lines long
- The poem should be energetic, positive, and cheerful to show care for children in need
- Adults and children are welcome to contribute
Selected poems will be printed by the organizer onto two-meter-high posters which will be presented at the event.
