About the Violinist----Yu-Chien (Benny) Tseng

Taiwanese violinist Yu-Chien (Benny) Tseng is rapidly building an international reputation as an emerging young soloist of enormous promise praised for his “grace, poise, and blistering virtuosity.”

A student of eminent pedagogues Aaron Rosand and Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute of Music, Tseng is the 1st prizewinner at the Singapore International Violin Competitions and the Sarasate Violin Competition in Pamplona, Spain. In July 2015, he was awarded top prize at the XV International Tchaikovsky Violin Competition.
This benefit concert is for the well-known International Music Competition---USIMC (United States International Music Competition), which is held by Chinese Music Teacher Association of Northern California (CMTANC). Each year students all around the world are encouraged to attend more than 8 categories of the competition. Not only they get really valuable advises and suggestions from outstanding professional judges, share their talent with other students, they also get the opportunity to expose themselves to music of different genres and different cultures. 

Along with the music competition, we are very excited to have our first Music Festival this year. 18 professors from all over the world are invited to give master classes, hold workshops, and give high quality concerts, etc. We believe it will be a great experience for everyone who joins this event! 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition Top Prize Winner violinist Yu-chien Tseng
