Supporting New York Police Officer 

Peter Liang

For Justice and Fair Trial

New York City police officer Mr. Peter Liang was convicted of second degree manslaughter for shooting Mr. Akai Gurley, facing up to 15 years in prison. Evidences showthat the shooting was a pure tragic accident which bears no criminal intention. Mr. Liang is made the scapegoat of NYPD as well as the selective prosecution process. This is obviously wrong and unfair!

We express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Gurley family for their loss. In the meantime, we are equally saddened and deeply concerned by the selective and unjust prosecution of Mr. Peter Liang. It was a terrible and tragic accident, but an accident is not a crime!  

Atlanta Chinese community organizations are thus calling for all people and groups to say NO to political manipulation, selective prosecution, and scapegoating.We jointly express our strong disappointment, solemnly protest the conviction and demand fair trial for Mr. Liang and justice for all!

关于声援梁彼得警官强烈要求重新判决的

联合声明

纽约警官梁彼得因误杀黑人青年一事获判2级误杀重罪，将面临最高15年的监禁，成为纽约警察局的替罪羊。这明显不当、不公！ 亚特兰大众多华人团体对此表示强烈不满，严正要求有关方面重新审理，作出公正判决！

大量证据表明这绝非故意伤害，而是一起极为偶然的误伤事故。我们对无辜受害者非裔青年格利(Akai Gurley)及其家属表示深切同情与哀悼！但是对不平等不公正的判决表示强烈反对和不满！我们非常失望陪审团得出了一个完全错误的决定！这是一起可怕和悲剧的事故，并不是犯罪！

亚特兰大华人组织谨此联合呼吁，所有族裔的民众都秉持公道，摒弃种族岐见，关注梁警官误判案，严正要求有关方面重新审理，还社会和民众公道！还梁警官公道！
