People are emphasizing emotional intelligence these days. But do you know that bible is the best emotional intelligence text book and the bible goes much above and beyond the emotional intelligence.
Here Paul recognized that some Corinthians Christians had very strong feeling against eating the food sacrificed to the idol , or eating food in the temple of idol. They felt offended , conscience violated and even stumbled over this, when some other fellow Christians did that.
These felling are not quite necessary , since there is only one true God and all the idol are man-made figure. It might came from their previous experience or custom, It might change over time, and might be different for different people.
But the felling is true and it is strong . Paul asked his fellow Christians to recognize each other's felling in love , and care about each other 's feeling in love. In God's eyes, it is love that really counts, it is love that strengthens the church.
