A remodel project in Turtle Rock, Irvine that I designed in 2012. Turtle Rock, Irvine is the most expensive and high-end neighborhood in Irvine, a city that is already expensive and high-end. I am the Architect of Record for this job. I added more area to an existing one-story building to increase total area. We expanded to the back yard and added the 2nd floor. The main slope roof in the front is existing to remain to save construction cost. The construction cost is about 150,000 USD.

有人问：为什么美国的大部分住宅都是用木头建造，而不用钢筋混移土？

这主要是因为两个原因：1. 美国盛产木材，木结构房子最便宜，钢筋混凝土太贵；2. 加州地震很多，木结构的房子抗震性能最好，受到破坏后会发出声音变形，但不会马上倒塌，让人有充分的时间逃生。
