BCTF:

According to BC School Act, it is the basic right for students to receive education. Unfortunately, this right has been deprived. Because of the teachers’ strike, more than 500,000 students have been locked out of school causing great disruption to public schools.  Not only has the strike impacted students and parents in BC significantly, it has also incurred great financial loss to over 13, 000 international students. 

We, the people of British Columbia, urge you to put students first and end the strike immediately. We request that BCTF allow students and teachers return to school while engaging in negotiation or mediation with the government.  Don’t let the teachers who want to teach have no one to teach! Don’t let the students who are eager to learn have no school to go to!

We respect the teachers’ reasonable requests to the government. However, we ask that BCTF stop using students as pawns or your bargaining chips.  We believe that any negotiated contract with the government should be settled without preventing the students from receiving education NOW or in the future.

De acuerdo con la Ley Escolar de BC, es un derecho básico para que los estudiantes reciban una educación. Por desgracia, este derecho ha sido privado. Debido a la huelga de maestros, más de 500.000 estudiantes se han bloqueado fuera de la escuela, que ha estado doliendo el corazón de todos los estudiantes y padres de familia y de incurrir en grandes pérdidas para ellos económicamente, incluyendo a los estudiantes internacionales. 

Los estudiantes primero! Educación primero! Esperamos sinceramente que BCTF debe poner fin a la huelga lo más rápido posible, que BCTF debe dejar que los estudiantes y maestros regresan a la escuela. Por favor, deje de usar a los estudiantes como peones.

No permita que los maestros que quieren enseñar no tienen a nadie para enseñar! No deje que los estudiantes que están deseosos de aprender no tienen que ir a la escuela.

Respetamos los maestros a elevar sus peticiones veraz y razonable. Sin embargo, estas solicitudes deben ser negociados con el gobierno durante un período conveniente que no obstaculice los estudiantes de recibir educación.

根据BC省《教育法》，受教育是学生的基本权利，如今却被剥夺了。由于教师罢工，有五十万公校学生被关在校门之外，这对所有公校学生和家长来说，包括对国际生来说，在心灵和经济上都造成了严重的伤害。

学生优先，教育优先。我们真诚盼望教联应尽快停止罢工，先让学生们和老师们重返课堂。请不要继续把学生作为谈判的筹码，不要让想教书的教师没有书可教，不要让想上课的孩子没有课可上。

我们尊重教师们真实合理地提出诉求，但是请在不影响学生们受教育的时期与政府进行磋商。
