I am Don Sun, Cupertino Planning commissioner since 2011. I am running for City Council.  I humbly ask you to vote for me.

During my service as a Planning Commissioner, the City of Cupertino has seen many new exciting projects: Apple phase II, Main Street, and more. I am grateful to the City Staff for your support and encouragement during my service here. I look forward to continue working with you to build Cupertino to a world-class city. We have made many achievements, but have more challenges ahead.

My family have been living in Cupertino for 8 years. My children have been going to school here for 12 years. The residents in Cupertino, share our deep love for this great city, have different concerns. People who live in the East of the city have been affected by street vandalisms. Those who live in the West part of the city, worry about the air pollution caused by neighboring industries. People who live close to schools are frustrated with school traffic. Seniors need smaller housing arrangements that are convenient and economical.  I hear you. I am going to help resolve your issues.

My education in urban planning and experience as a planning commissioner give me the unique qualification to work on city's development issues as well as to balance residents’ concerns.

Together with my colleagues working in the city, we can achieve the following goals:

1. Establish more Green bike lanes for the City to promote biking.
2.  More senior housing.
3.  school impact factor to balance city traffic issues.
4.  To establish a special committee to provide a communication platform for residents and heavy industries.
5.  free job listing on city website.

As the Vice President of Cupertino historical society and a member of the Cupertino Rotary Club,  I love the City as much as you do, I will work for you and work for you only.

     Thank you!
