Hello everyone,
Please come and support this meaningful event about the contributions and achievements of Chinese immigrants to the Santa Clara County, 150+years ago as well as the current time. The exhibit has Jeremy Lin, Vienna Tang, Iris Chang as well as many Chinese American mayors of the local cities. As this is the first time the Saratoga History Museum hosting this exhibit, it will be great if we have more Chinese people come to this opening event to show our support and our presence at the Silicon Valley. There will be also Chinese cultural performance and calligraphy demonstration. Read the following news for the details. Hope to see you this Sunday 2pm. At the museum.

薩拉度加歷史博物館（Saratoga History Museum）將於13日下午2時舉行「聖他克拉拉谷的先驅–華裔史蹟」展覽，展示華裔移民從19世紀中葉到以來在南灣奮鬥的情形，同時展現薩拉度加華裔與華裔社團對當地的貢獻。
館長史川斯基（Annette Stransky）表示，這是博物館首次以特定族裔舉辦發展史展示會。
展覽於13日下午2時舉行開幕式，展期到10月26日為止。薩拉度加市長朱淑玲（Emily Lo）、華裔歷史學家余容儀芳（Connie Young Yu）等人都將參加開幕式，此外並有古箏、淡江大鼓隊的表演、呂鐘揚書法展等。
史川斯基指出，展覽內容包括華裔先民19世紀中葉起，在南灣建立華人社區，以及在排華的大環境下堅忍奮鬥的過程。
史川斯基說，展示會亦強調華裔早期對農業與修築鐵路的貢獻，以及二戰後移民在南灣高科技、社區領導等領域的卓越成就。華裔移民的努力，共同塑造聖他克拉拉谷目前的經濟與文化。
朱淑玲表示，社區各族裔融洽相處是她施政的主軸之一，各族裔之間了解彼此過去背景，有助社區和諧，這次華裔移民奮鬥史的展覽會非常有意義。
薩拉度加目前亞裔人口約占全市40%，其中華裔約25%、印度裔10%、日韓裔5%。朱淑玲希望，日後也能舉辦其他不同族裔的移民史展覽，有助各族裔相互了解。
洛斯蓋圖-薩拉度加高中聯合學區委員張琛表示，雖然薩拉度加各族裔都有不同的移民經驗，了解華裔移民的歷史及貢獻，對全市民眾都很重要。
