Hi All,
Someone told me that Assembly Paul Fong will not be in his office today. I just verified with Maggie. She confirmed that today is a rally in front of Assembly member Paul Fong's office, not a set meeting with him. Please see Maggie's email below. I will be there.
To help move the cause to accomplish what we want, we have to be very carefully not to step into the trap of becoming a "RACE" Issue. We have to be calm, be respectful, be persistent and no put down other people.
Please don't call State Senator Edward Hernandez or those State Senators who voted for SCA-5 racists. For example: someone called State Senator Jim Beal's office and called him a racist. I have known State Senator Jim Beal for more than 20 years. I know that he is not a racist. Please DO NOT call people racist. Be very careful not to step into the "RACE TRAP".
I am still working to place SCA-5 on Cupertino City Council March 18 agenda. I will keep you informed for the progress. In the mean time, you can call or email to Campbell City Council members and ask them to place SCA-5 on their next meeting agenda. Council member Evan Low is Assembly member Paul Fong's District staff. He is a Chinese-American and also running for Paul Fong's seat, State Assembly, District 28. Next Campbell City Council meeting is on March 18 at 7;30 PM. the address is: City Hall Council Chamber, 70 N. First St., Campbell, CA 95008.
