Dear Ken and Sophia, dear volunteers, dear moms, dads and children, dear ladies and gentlemen:

On behalf of all the volunteers and supporters, I hereby extend our greatest respect and admiration for all the good things you have accomplished for promoting the quality of public education, the safety and well-being of all children and the acceptance and recognition of all cultures, including the Chinese culture, in the public school system. 

We are extremely grateful for you as a voice in Vancouver School Board when we, as parents, the seemingly invisible and voiceless, struggled to be heard, our opinions respected, and our rights protected. You integrity, honesty, compassion and tenacity was like a shining light in the dark place, which warmed our hearts and motivated us to go on the good fight for our children. You set a good example for us about what bravery and righteousness are when facing severe adversity yet unyielding to pressure and injustice.  

We also thank you for participating in the city election, knowing that you faced tremendous pressure and financial loss once agreeing to get into the race. Your sacrifice and fight is not in vain. We have gained over 37,000 votes only after we were organized in one month without any help from big corporations, unions or parties. In respect to the few volunteers we have and the considerable fund we raised up comparing with other parties, the campaign actually is an amazing success. Now the big parties know that we are not invisible and insignificant. When they pass or implement any policy, they should think that there are 37,000 people that may disagree with them. 

We understand that Vancouver doesn’t develop into this state of morality and political environment in one day and it won’t be changed in one day, one year or one election. For the well-being of our children and Vancouver, the land we live in, we will continue to support you wherever you are. Thank you for all you have done for us! We love you!
