San Ramon Leaders Swing Support to Catharine Baker 
“Catharine Baker demonstrates the independent spirit of the East Bay”
 
(Pleasanton, CA) – Catharine Baker is pleased to announce San Ramon Mayor Bill Clarkson and Councilmember Scott Perkins have swung their support over to her campaign for Assembly.  Both Clarkson and Perkins previously supported different Democratic primary opponents.  Now, four of the five councilmembers in San Ramon support Catharine Baker for Assembly.
 
 "Our state government keeps micromanaging our local cities with unfunded mandates and requirements that work against the needs of our community," said Mayor Clarkson.  "Catharine is the candidate who will stand up for our local cities and local control over the special interests and lobbyists.  We could not have a better voice for our community in Sacramento than Catharine Baker."
 
"Catharine Baker understands the challenges facing our region and state, and it’s critically important we turn out to vote for an independent leader like Catharine to face them," said Councilmember Perkins.  “Catharine is well-prepared to be our voice in Sacramento, and will always put our community first over special interests and powerful union bosses.”

Catharine is a mother of school-age twins and an active parent leader in local schools, having served as Vice President of the Dougherty Elementary School Site Council and on several school improvement committees.
 
Catharine is also a volunteer leader in her community, previously serving on a local preschool board and volunteering with Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts in the region as an archery instructor.  She also volunteers on the board of the Diablo Regional Arts Association in Walnut Creek, supporting arts and educational programs for families and schoolchildren throughout her community.
 
Catharine earned her B.A. degree from the University of Chicago, overcoming cancer her senior year to graduate Phi Beta Kappa and with honors.  Catharine later went on to earn her J.D. degree from U.C. Berkeley School of Law, and helps small businesses and local charities get started and become successful.
