一个小故事

I would like to share a good story today
今天我想和大家分享一个小故事。
I talked to my neighbour Jim today after work and send in Chuck's flyer. He is registered independent and his wife is from Taiwan. Very nice neighbour of mine but we never talked about politics before.
今天下班后我去邻居Jim家发Chuck的传单。他的妻子是从台湾来的，他们是很好的邻居，但是在此之前，我们从来没有谈论过政治。
They are aware of the SCA5 and tired of Democrats and very much agree to support Republican to send a clear message to Sacramento. But he didn't know Chuck was running for State Assembly in our district. After I told him about I am volunteering for Chuck, he said that he know Chuck, as Saratoga City Council member, Chuck works hard, he had some planning appeal to the City Council, the only Council member came to his home to check out the construction view issue was Chuck and no other City Council members bothered to check out. He really beleives that we can truct Chuck will do a good job as our assembly man. Chuck will listen to the people and work for the ordinary people.
他注册为独立选民，他们听说过SCA5，对民主党的一套做法开始感到厌倦，非常赞同应该用支持共和党的方式来给sacramento州府送去明确的厌倦的信号。但是他们并不知道Chuck在参选28区的众议员。我告诉他们我是Chuck助选团队的义工后，他就打开了话匣，开始给我讲起Chuck来。他说，Chuck作为Saratoga的市议员，工作非常勤奋。当时他们因房子规划问题上诉给市议会，Chuck到他家检查了房子的建造问题，他是唯一一个前来检查的，其他议员都没有到场。他相信Chuck值得信赖，也会成为一个好的众议员的，因为他不仅聆听普通民众的需求，也为普通民众服务。
I told him that Chuck's campaign is in short of cash, he asked me to send him softcopy of the flyer and will print out and distribute on our behalf Chuck. Their family is committed to show up at the voting booth for Chuck on 06/03.
我告诉他Chuck的选举缺乏经费后，他马上叫我把传单的电子版发给他，他要印出来发给朋友们，并保证他们全家会在6/3为Chuck投上自己神圣的一票！
I am encouraged by this experience and will continue work through my neighbours.
我被这个小故事感动着，激励着，我将会继续在小区里为他散发传单。
后记：
当我把这个小故事告诉朋友时，无独有偶，一个朋友的朋友曾经和Chuck同事了好几年，说起他来也是赞不绝口，说他做事很正派，公正，有分寸，协调能力强，对人很好，大家都很喜欢他。在助选中，我就从别人的口中慢慢地越来越了解他，认识他了。
题外话：年轻的Chuck是不是很帅？！
