Hello MSJ parents,
For those with children looking for an intensive, competition based extracurricular activity related to robotics, whether it is programming or mechanics, they're highly encouraged to apply for an FTC. In particular, they are welcomed to apply for Team 548 Geek Squad.
548 Geek Squad is returning for its ninth season after a one year hiatus. We're back, stronger than ever, ready to carry on our legacy established at the 2007 FTC World Championships. The team is being reinstated by Christina Guan and Stella Seo, who have 14 years of experience and 38 awards between them, including international recognition for software (x1) and robot game (x2). Stella is also the former captain of FTC 7591 Voltage of Imagination and is the only member to have attended both 2014 and 2015 World Championships to rank in the top 1.8% and 0.6% of teams internationally. As a captain, she is also individually recognized as a FIRST Dean's List Finalist, acknowledging her strong presence and impressive leadership in the top 0.25% of students in the program.
Geek Squad is a highly competitive team with an emphasis on giving the most enriching experience possible between learning new things and meeting amazing people. We firmly believe that the best innovations and experiences stem from the desire to be one of the best. Beyond excelling in robot game through advanced hard/software, effective documentation, and CAD software, we strive to leave tangible impact in our community. Our opportunities to share our experiences and teach robotics under STREAM Education, a registered nonprofit, also count as service learning hours. Our connections extend past influential people and teams in the Bay Area to some of the best and brightest from Southern Florida to South Korea.
