Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) stresses the importance of the Vergara court decision in his Capitol Comment for the week of June 9th, 2014. Huff supports the decision by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rolf M. Treu in Vergara v. California to strike down five key laws dealing with teacher tenure and a hiring policy known as "Last In First Out." Huff says Judge Treu's decision reflects the reforms he's been trying to pass in the State Legislature, only to have those reforms blocked by teacher unions who are more concerned with the welfare of adults than students. It's Senator Huff's hope that the Legislature enact reforms needed to ensure that all students are given the right to the best education possible. Senator Huff serves as the Senate Republican Leader and represents the 29th Senate District covering portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties.
