Dear Friends, Next Monday March 7th, FAA leadership is returning to conduct a follow-up meeting with local elected officials and community leaders from each city and community noise organization in the 18th Congressional District. They will be discussing their November 16, 2015 released FAA Initiative to Address Noise Concerns of Santa Clara/Santa Cruz/San Mateo/San Francisco Counties. Thanks to your tireless support over the last several months, the City of Palo Alto now has dedicated City staff and the services of Freytag Associates to help address our concerns with the FAA. Sky Posse has helped document the problem of concentrated routes and frequent, low flying airplanes plaguing our neighborhoods daily and nightly. We hope and expect that the FAA will welcome the ideas and suggestions made by our city to reduce airplane noise over Palo Alto and neighboring communities. We are confident that workable solutions can be found that will fairly benefit all affected communities. These might involve new approaches to SFO at significantly higher altitudes, approach path dispersion so that no one path gets a disproportional amount of traffic, and approaches that more fully use the air space over the Bay and industrial areas. We are looking for ways to redirect the especially distressing recurring night flights to higher altitudes over the water as well. We are grateful for the tireless efforts Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and her excellent staff to engage the FAA. Together we can find appropriate solutions for all. Sky Posse Palo Alto
